The San Francisco General Hospital Foundation recently held its annual Hearts in SF fundraising gala in support of Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center.

The event is significant as it raises funds for the hospital, which provides care to the community. The gala featured a cocktail reception, seated dinner, programming, award presentations, entertainment, and an auction of Heart sculptures.

According to the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation, “Thank you for joining us at Hearts in SF, the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation’s annual fundraising gala in support of Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG). A special evening to celebrate our city’s outstanding public hospital, Hearts in SF featured a cocktail reception, a seated dinner, compelling programming, inspirational awardees, top-notch entertainment, and an auction of the iconic Heart sculptures.”

This year’s Hero & Heart Awards recognized Kelly Brandon from ZSFG Labor and Delivery and co-founder of the ACT Nurse Liaison Program; Melissa Pitts from ZSFG Emergency Department; and Pamela Dorsey, a ZSFG heart transplant recipient. The Community Impact Award was given to the San Francisco Free Clinic and its founders Dr. Patricia Hellman Gibbs and Dr. Richard D. Gibbs for over 20 years of service providing medical care to those most in need.

The event also acknowledged committee members including Marisa Rodriguez as Chair and Simone Balch as Corporate Chair. Honorary committee members included local officials such as State Senator Josh Becker, State Treasurer Fiona Ma, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, Congresswoman Lateefah Simon, Assemblymember Catherine Stefani, Priscilla Chan MD and Mark Zuckerberg.

The Foundation continues to encourage donations to support what it describes as a world-class hospital that serves all residents.
