Persona announced on April 3 the launch of its privacy portal, a tool designed to give individuals a centralized way to manage personal data processed during identity verification. The company said the portal allows users to see where Persona may have been involved in verifying their identity and to submit requests to access or delete their information from one central place.

The introduction of this portal comes as concerns about digital privacy and data breaches remain high. The new tool aims to simplify how individuals review instances of identity verification involvement and handle access or deletion requests directly, according to a LinkedIn post from Persona that introduced the privacy portal. The post also noted that this development responds to the routine trust users place in companies during online identity processes across services and that the portal simplifies data management for individuals engaging with digital platforms that require verification.

Recent reports highlight the importance of such tools. According to the Identity Theft Resource Center, the United States recorded a record 3,322 data breaches in 2025 that exposed personal information of 278.83 million people. Cyberattacks accounted for the large majority of these incidents and frequently targeted details such as Social Security numbers and financial records. The scale of these compromises illustrates ongoing vulnerabilities in digital data handling. Tools that increase individual oversight can help address risks faced by consumers in everyday online activities.

Persona is a San Francisco-based provider of configurable identity infrastructure that supports businesses with KYC (Know Your Customer), AML (Anti-Money Laundering), KYB (Know Your Business) compliance, fraud detection, and user onboarding. The company was founded in 2018 by former engineers from Dropbox and Square who identified the need for streamlined identity solutions across organizations. It delivers flexible tools that enable secure verification while prioritizing accessible and human-centered online experiences.
